Runner-up entry in our ‘Your Shot’ photo competition, captured at Ponte Pietra bridge in Verona.
“Verona is famous for Juliet’s balcony. Plus there are such beautiful bridges across the Adige River.
Ponte Pietra is the most intriguing bridge, with its mixture of masonry and brickwork, evidence of the destruction and reconstruction that has occurred several times over the past seven centuries.
In mid June 2011, I visited Verona and was lucky enough to be greeted with beautiful swirling clouds and subtle late afternoon light reflecting off the river.
Taken using: Canon 450D18, 200 mm lens.”
