About Us

International Traveller’s mission is to connect people to their incredible experiences through our outstanding and inspirational content.

Australian Traveller Media began life with a simple idea; inspire Australians to see their own country. (Read memoirs of a traveller from co-founder Quentin Long )

Australian Traveller magazine and australiantraveller.com launched May 2005. The magazine quickly became the best selling travel magazine in Australia. It gained a reputation for inspired travel writing and photography and a fearless dedication to independent advice.

In 2012 Australian Traveller Media launched International Traveller magazine and internationaltraveller.com catering to the outbound Australian traveller.

We pride ourselves on putting our readers first, on quality journalism and on no-nonsense advice – all of which you’ll find in the IT Manifesto.

Our founder Quentin Long is the most trusted travel media commentator in the country, often seen on Ch9’s Today, A Current Affair and News programs. He is also heard across the country on ABC 702 Sydney, ABC Statewide Victoria and Sydney’s 2GB radio station.

We employ smart, motivated people who want to achieve big things quickly.

Re Tricia Welsh’s article on Kashmir. A beautiful article but when was Tricia Welsh there. No mention was made of the devastating floods of September 2014 that affected Kashmir and in particular the city of Srinagar, Dal Lake and surrounding areas.

    • International Traveller Magazine says:

      Hi Jill,
      Thanks for your feedback.
Our author Tricia actually visited Kashmir before the floods.
It was undeniably a devastating event that affected many lives but in this instance, the story was written for a travel magazine audience.
Tourism will continue in Kashmir and, as we’re sure you’ll agree, it is still an inspiring travel destination.
      All the best!

      Warm regards,
      the IT team

    • Steve says:

Hi Elizabeth, Click directly on the ‘CLICK HERE TO ENTER’ link to take you through to the entry page. Have just tested and it seems to be working fine.

  • Allan Edwards says:

I used to enjoy entering your magazine’s “Your Shot Competition”. I see now that is based on Instagram and understand that this medium is aimed at tablets and mobile phones but will not allow photos to be loaded via a PC. As I do not use either a mobile, nor a tablet, is there any way I can still submit my travel photos (via a PC) to your competition. Thank you.

    • Steve says:

      Hi Allan,
Unfortunately, even if you enter on your PC you still have to do so by Instagram. There are some apps which allow you to upload to Instagram via your PC, but most require a phone or tablet somewhere in the process. Really sorry we can’t be of more help. Regards.

  • Trish McQuade says:

New Australian Owned Cruise Experience Links Downtown Vancouver and Victoria

V2V Invites Australians to Sail Canada’s Beautiful British Columbia Coast in Style in 2019

February 11, 2019, Sydney, NSW: V2V Vacations, the new Australian owned and operated premium cruise experience that connects downtown Vancouver and downtown Victoria, has invited Australians to join it sailing the beautiful coast of British Columbia, Canada in 2019. The unique service navigates the stunning regional coastline between the two city centre harbours, while travelling in style on the V2V Empress catamaran – a quintessential experience not to be missed by Australians visiting Western Canada in 2019.

Linking the cosmopolitan city life of Vancouver with Victoria’s historic-yet-hip allure, the scenic voyage aboard the 242-passenger high-speed V2V Empress sails daily from March 15 to October 31, 2019. The journey of less than three hours and thirty minutes is the only boat service that transports passengers directly from the heart of Vancouver city right into Victoria’s historic Inner Harbour, offering a more time-efficient and comfortable alternative to the car ferry that operates from outside both cities. During high-season, between April 16 and September, the journey through Active Pass and the Georgia Strait to Vancouver is a sunset cruise that captures the city’s perfect skyline and summer activity along the city’s famous Stanley Park Seawall.

“The waters of southwestern British Columbia are some of the most spectacular in the world, so it’s high time for Australians visiting the region to be offered this opportunity to voyage while enjoying the rare scenic beauty, learning about the region’s rich culture, and tasting local cuisine,” says Julian Wright, the Australian General Manager of V2V Vacations. “At V2V, we make travel convenient without the usual lengthy transfers to outlying ferry terminals, so you truly relax and prepare for exciting day trips or extended stays in two of Canada’s most scenic city destinations – vibrant and bustling Vancouver, and quaint, charming Victoria.”

From aboard the V2V Empress, guests can enjoy a choice of two stylish seating classes, an impressive selection of local BC cuisine, wine and crafts beer, complimentary Wi-Fi, and access to the sundeck for a spectacular 360-degree view perfect for wildlife watching. Ergonomic leather seating wired with individual USB ports and power outlets means the trip can be as productive as pleasurable. A concierge service allows guests to make bookings from an exclusively curated list of cultural and authentic attractions at both destinations.

Vancouver’s varied shopping, stylish hotels, inventive dining and hopping cultural scene thrive in a chic but laid-back metro setting where mountains, forests and ocean meet.Victoria charms visitors with its British bent, with pubs, candy shops, tea houses and specialty stores to explore, and impresses with its culturally rich museums, surprising mews, lush gardens and many important institutions as British Columbia’s provincial Capital.

V2V Vacations is owned by Riverside Marine Group, one of Australia’s leading marine companies operating a number of diverse divisions since 1926. The concept for V2V was envisioned by Riverside Marine’s CEO Hume Campbell and his wife Rowan. Being lovers of the sea, they longed for an easily accessible way to get directly to Victoria from Vancouver without sacrificing the ocean experience.
