World’s largest aquarium joins Singapore’s menagerie

Inside Singapore’s impressive S.E.A Aquarium and River Safari.

For a small island state, Singapore does some pretty impressive wildlife adventures.

The world’s first nocturnal zoo and long-time Singapore favourite, Night Safari (, has recently opened their Wallaby Trail – although most Australians will probably be more interested in the lions, zebras, elephants and sloths.

Below water, the S.E.A Aquarium ( at Sentosa is the world’s largest fish tank where manta rays share their pool with huge groupers and sharks.

Joining this impressive list is now the world’s largest fresh water aquarium, River Safari (

The wildlife park is themed around the seven big rivers of the world; Mississippi, Congo, Nile, Ganges, Mekong, Yangtze and even little old Murray River gets a gong.

Visitors will get a below-water aquarium experience, river boat ride, as well as the standard animal-in-enclosure experience.
