Six stars for this Six Senses resort

It doesn’t get much more heavenly than the Six Senses Con Dao resort in Vietnam

Welcome to Con Dao, a tiny dot lying off the south-east coast of Vietnam in the South China Sea, home to the luxurious Six Senses Con Dao resort.

Set within lush tropical vegetation with panoramic views of the dramatic Lo Voi Mountains, endless sparkling ocean and pure white sand, the beachfront resort is a heavenly retreat from the hustle and bustle of the mainland.

This pristine environment is maintained because of the resort’s commitment to sustainability through initiatives such as banning plastic bottles; in fact it was named one of the world’s top eco lodges by National Geographic Traveler.

The accommodation itself is spacious and airy: villas can sleep up to eight guests and are simply designed with natural reclaimed teak and neutral colours, rightly drawing all attention to the view. (The butler service and private infinity pool aren’t too shabby either.)

After a few days of bliss here, we suspect check-out will be a tough feat, indeed. From $617 per night;
