Winner: Fiji
Why you love it…
This beautiful South Pacific island is a firm holiday favourite. Around four hours on a plane from Australia’s east coast and bula, you’re being welcomed with a warm smile, salusalu (floral garland) and fruity cocktail. The tropical climate, plethora of resorts, archipelago of white-sand-fringed islands, crystal-clear water and world-class surf are drawcards. But it’s the pure joy that emanates from the locals and their love for children that has families returning time and again.
Hot tip…
Many Fiji resorts host kids’ clubs that offer enriching experiences, teaching everything from traditional crafts to cultural dances.

It’s safe, clean, has reliable transport… but that’s the boring stuff. The home of Hello Kitty, Nintendo and Pokémon also has amusement parks, playful hotels, neon lights, robots and quirky snacks – and that’s just to impress the kids.
Bali
We continue to hold the Indonesian island of Bali close to our hearts for its cheap eats and massages, friendly locals, lively beach clubs, epic sunsets and bustling markets where, no doubt, your kids will have their hair braided.
New Zealand
A quick hop over the ditch, NZ is a brilliant place for families and ample outdoor experiences, from ziplining and jet boating to family-friendly cycling routes.
Singapore
Whether it’s a stopover or a destination, Singapore is amazing for families, particularly Sentosa Island, which is home to a plethora of fun activities such as Universal Studios, a water slide park, a luge park and beaches.
