There's a new island to visit in Vanuatu, this is how

A new Vanuatuan island experience is coming to Royal Caribbean itineraries.
A Vanuatuan island will be coming to Royal Caribbean itineraries.
Picture this: soft, white sand beneath your toes. Lush greenery behind you. And the bluest ocean waters spread out in front of you. This is the dream of the new private island stop (coming in early 2027) with Royal Caribbean, Lelepa in the South Pacific Archipelago east of Australia.

Lelepa will grace Royal Caribbean’s Vanuatu itineraries.
Making cruise history, this will be the first private island cruise destination in the Southern Hemisphere. This is a departure from the famous Caribbean Coco Cay island experience. Instead of theme-park-esque delights, the aim here will be true and sympathetic to the Vanuatu South Pacific location and culture.

An arrival bar is planned to greet RCI guests.
This locally-inspired experience was largely driven by the research around Australian travellers’ appetite and desire for local culture in Vanuatu and beyond. Think serene beaches, nature trails, water activities and delicious dining. But also involvement with local villages and communities from the get-go. Every detail from the design to crop selection (it will be locally grown produce for guests) was a combined effort with locals and Royal Caribbean.

The floating bar is sure to be a highlight.
“Royal Caribbean is leading the way when it comes to holiday experiences with its ever-expanding destination portfolio, alongside its world-class ships,” said Gavin Smith, Vice President and Managing Director of Royal Caribbean Australia and New Zealand.
“We’re thrilled that we will have the very first private cruise ship destination in the southern hemisphere with Lelepa, Vanuatu. With crystal clear waters and the most stunning natural beauty – it’ll be the perfect spot for our guests on their South Pac holidays come 2027.”

Lelepa’s east beach will be set up exclusively for cruisers.
