The chicest stays for your next sojourn to the City of Lights.
Paris is no stranger to chic accommodations with some of the world’s best hotels sprinkled everywhere from the ultra-cool Marais to the iconic 1st arrondissement.
The number of registered hotels exceeded 1600 in 2025, so finding a place to stay isn’t the challenge. It’s deciding on the best place to stay in Paris for the kind of trip you’re planning, that is. To cut out some of the guesswork, we’ve rounded up a selection of new and classic hotels, ranging from boutique stays to palatial retreats that showcase the different sides of the City of Lights’ varied personalities and design sensibilities.
Whether you’re a first-timer looking for a classic Parisian experience with Eiffel Tower views or want to feel less tourist and more in-the-know with a design-forward base, these unabashedly French stays will elevate your visit tenfold.
In short
If you only stay in one hotel in Paris, make it Le Grand Mazarin, for its Wes Anderson-style design, impeccable hospitality and perfect positioning in the Marais.
Which area to stay in in Paris
Paris is well-connected, and each of the 20 municipal arrondissements embodies a unique side of the city. If it’s your first time travelling to Paris, the 1st, 4th and 7th arrondissements are home to the city’s most iconic landmarks: the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and Notre-Dame Cathedral. My personal favourite area is the Marais (3rd and 4th arrondissements) for its historic buildings, vintage shopping and cool dining venues. I also enjoy the 10th, as it has a more local, multicultural feel with fewer tourists, and an eclectic mix of restaurants, historic markets and vibrant nightlife.
SO/ Paris

Metro: Sully-Morland (6-minute walk)
What’s nearby: Le Marais district, the Seine, Place de la Bastille & Opéra Bastille
SO/Paris is one of my favourite places to stay in Paris for its panoramic views, cool contemporary design and friendly hospitality. It showcases the city’s more playful, modern side, exuding avant-garde, ‘70s style against iconic Parisian vistas. The 140 rooms and 22 suites are sleek yet playful, equipped with steamers, Japanese toilets and Bluetooth speakers. I recommend booking a Paris Skyline room so you can admire panoramic views across the Seine, Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame from the comfort of your plush bed. Onsite restaurant and bar Bonnie is a chic spot for cocktails while taking in sweeping Parisian views.

Hôtel Le Grand Mazarin

Metro: Hôtel de Ville (3-minute walk)
What’s nearby: Some of the city’s best restaurants, bars, and shops, Hôtel de Ville, Notre-Dame Cathedral & Île de la Cité
A stay at Hôtel Le Grand Mazarin in the Marais is one you’re unlikely to forget and as soon as I was handed a glass of Taittinger during check-in, I knew I was in for a treat. Bursting with bold patterns and colour, its eclectic design would fit right at home in a Wes Anderson film; every nook of this Martin Brudnizki-designed stay is photo-ready. Rooms feature beautiful tapestry bed canopies and Diptyque bath products, some with terraces overlooking the Parisian rooftops. There’s an indoor swimming pool, and onsite restaurant Boubalé makes for an ultra-chic spot for Middle Eastern-meets-Mediterranean bites and elevated tipples.
Staff are kind and go above and beyond to cater to guests. My most recent stay there was during a heatwave and they provided handheld fans with a graphic of the hotel on it as well as Evian spray bottles.

Salvia

What’s nearby: Panthéon, Jardin du Luxembourg, Sorbonne University
Tucked away in Paris’s Latin Quarter and opposite Sorbonne University, Salvia takes inspiration from its location and the sage plant to offer a literary, wellness-focused stay. 39 rooms may be on the petite side, but that’s made up for with chic, mid-century modern design with sage greens, light pinks and warm timber and bathrooms stocked with organic bath products. The well-priced stay also features a library cafe filled with local literature that turns into the Salvia Cantina restaurant by night, and a herbal tea bar.

Hôtel Noucha

Metro: Jasmin (4-minute walk)

Those looking for a home-away-from-home should turn their attention to Hôtel Noucha. An affordable yet stylish boutique accommodation, it positions itself as a family-friendly stay in the quiet, affluent 16th arrondissement. A former family mansion, the reimagined townhouse has retained its maison charm, having been filled with books, antique bric-a-brac, marble fireplaces and soft, modern furnishings. There’s also a terrace, bar, and all-day dining room. Dogs are welcome.

As expected, this intimate stay is ultra-stylish, merging three different buildings from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries with an understated, pied-à-terre ambience. Rooms are decorated with handmade beds with custom headboards and vintage-style bathrooms. As tempting as it is to linger within this beautifully designed space that also offers a spa and French gastronomy, you’re also perfectly positioned in the 1st arrondissement to discover some of the city’s top highlights.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée

Metro: Alma-Marceau (4-minute walk)
What’s nearby: Eiffel Tower, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Grand Palais
If you’re coming to Paris for Eiffel Tower views, you can’t look past the iconic Hôtel Plaza Athénée. This accommodation does the rounds on social media for good reason, as it has boasted one of the best vistas of the city’s most prominent landmark since 1913. Anchored by a vine-filled central courtyard which hosts a luxury open-air movie experience, the high-end stay has five restaurants and spacious rooms dressed in classic Parisian style. The highlight? The Royal Suite goes for a casual €20,000 to €45,000 per night.

Hôtel des Académies et des Arts

Metro: Vavin (2-minute walk)
What’s nearby: Jardin du Luxembourg, Musée Bourdelle
The Right Bank tends to steal the spotlight in Paris, but Hôtel des Académies et des Arts makes a strong case for staying on the Left. This artful stay is an ode to the creative energy of Paris’s Belle Époque and the artists who lived on the street, including Pablo Picasso, Paul Gauguin and Amedeo Modigliani, who lived within the building. Art deco and mid-century-modern styles permeate each room alongside hand-painted ceiling murals, and there’s an on-site creative art studio where guests can sketch, paint or draw.

Bus Palladium

Metro: Pigalle (4-minute walk); St Georges (5-minute walk)
What’s nearby: Moulin Rouge
Once a legendary nightclub frequented by Mick Jagger and Salvador Dalí, Bus Palladium now stands as the 9th arrondissement’s hippest stay. Designed by the team behind the Yves Saint Laurent museum in Marrakech, the hotel pays homage to its rock ‘n’ roll heritage via ’70s-style design and an underground music club. No two rooms are the same, but each exudes a retro-rock aesthetic with cork-clad walls, velour loveseats, soundproofed walls and vintage pieces sourced from Parisian markets.

What’s nearby: Musée de l’Orangerie, Petit Palais, Grand Palais, Jeu de Paume, Palais Garnier
With its royal 18th-century architecture, built at the request of King Louis XV and later becoming the residence of Count de Crillon, Rosewood Hôtel de Crillon is arguably Paris’ most breathtaking stay. Overlooking Place de la Concorde, the hotel’s palatial interiors are perfectly paired with contemporary Parisian elegance, with rooms feeling more like high-end private pieds-à-terre than hotel rooms. Facilities include a subterranean indoor pool, spa, barber shop, shoe-shine chair and five dining facilities.
